Makeup 411 - Eyeliners - Transgender Universe

When it comes to eyeliners they come in many types and depending on the shape of your eye there are many different looks you can achieve. Eyeliners come in pencils, gels, creams and liquids. Today we will take a look at some of the best and how to achieve that perfect “cat eye” look.

Your standard pencil works exactly as it sounds. For a standard line this should work with no problem. It becomes a little problematic when it comes to creating tight lines and shapes as you do not get the accuracy you may need. You also will have to sharpen it as you would any pencil.

Gel eyeliners usually come with an applicator or brush. They are perfect if you are going for a smokey look. It takes a while to master and get fine lines. The same goes with most liquids.

My favorite type is the liquid with a felt tip. This works like a marker and you can create smooth lines with no fuss. Some people use the liquid for the top and a pencil for the bottom. Eyeliners also come in a variety of colors.

I have hooded eyelids and they can be a nightmare when it comes to eyeliner. When using liquids, gels and pencils, if I blink I have to sets of lines on my lids. When I found the Kat Von D Tattoo liner it changed my life. It is easy to use. The unique felt tip makes it easy to get the finest and thickest of lines. I like the control I have over it. The best part is that it dries fast enough so I don’t get double lines on my eyelid. It is waterproof but easy to take off with a makeup wipe. I use it almost every day and it is my go to eyeliner for all occasions.
