From Pop duo High Dive Heart we have their latest video for the song “Misfit”. It features a powerful message from Corey Maison, a 14 year old transgender teen who uses flash cards to tell her story and raise awareness about bullying.

Maison says she always knew in her heart that she was female. According to her parents, she was aware of her identity as early as the age of 2. She attributes TV star Jazz Jennings as her inspiration as she made her realize there were other people in the world like herself.

“It takes an incredibly brave human at 14 years old to be a pioneer and spokesperson for what she’s going through.”

In an interview with ABC News, Nelly Joy Reeves of High Dive Heart said she and her husband Jason asked Corey to be a part of the video after seeing a photo of her online. “It takes an incredibly brave human at 14 years old to be a pioneer and spokesperson for what she’s going through,” said Reeves. The video has become viral after being shared by The BULLY Project on their Facebook page.

“I hope she can be an inspiration to other gender nonconforming children and give them the courage to be who they are inside..” says Corey’s mother Erica “I also want adults and especially other parents to see a transgender child that has 100 percent support from their family and peers, and see that she is happy and thriving and absolutely loves life.”

For a limited time, all proceeds from streams of “Misfit” by High Dive Heart on Spotify and any sales of the song on iTunes will be donated to The BULLY project.
