Transgender musician and star of The Voice UK, Jordan Gray, released the debut single for her upcoming album titled “Platinum”.

“The song has nothing to do with gender, nothing to do with being trans. It’s about becoming the best possible version of yourself…”

The single which combines elements of rock and roll, soul, dance and rap is the title cut of the record. This is her first release since reaching the semi finals on The Voice UK earlier this year. The song represents a bit of a departure from what we heard her perform previously.

The video gets a bit sexy and features a the first cisgender/transgender love scene in a mainstream music video, though Gray insists the single “Platinum” has nothing to do with being transgender. “The song has nothing to do with gender, nothing to do with being trans. It’s about becoming the best possible version of yourself and getting out of a controlling relationship or a controlling place in your life,” Gray told the Gay Times.
