The group hopes to break ground on the community center some time in 2017; however, it is their intent is to start providing services such as their support groups in the beginning of January. The team behind TRCLI is asking the community to assist in narrowing down the most centralized location for the building by taking a quick anonymous needs survey on their website www.trcli.org

“A center dedicated primarily to the transgender and gender non-conforming community is something that Long Island desperately needs.”

“A center dedicated primarily to the transgender and gender non-conforming community is something that Long Island desperately needs,” said Tina Calabrese, LCSW the Executive Director of the Heart and Soul Counseling Center who is also serving as a board member for TRCLI. “We have a great team in place, and I am confident they will do an excellent job in providing valuable resources to the community. At this time more then ever we need a compassionate and competent center like TRCLI to take us into the future.”

The community needs a center and resource hub like TRCLI now more than ever before. With greater visibility comes greater responsibility and risks. The center will be not just a centralized hub for resources, but will also serve as a safe haven to the community while jointly working to create a safer world outside.
